Work begins on Anchorage

October 2021

Following a successful partnership on No. 1 Old Trafford, Domis has secured the role of main contractor for Cole Waterhouse’s second residential scheme, Anchorage Gateway.

Located in the Salford Quays area, Anchorage Quay has a construction value of 48 million and will occupy the site of Anchorage Gateway, a vacant four storey office block, built in the 1990s, and demolished July 2021.

Designed by Chapman Taylor architects, Anchorage Quay will be developed as an L-shaped, split-level building with the tallest tower standing at an impressive 28 floors. The building will be constructed primarily in brickwork with a beige-grey envelope, with crown features to extend beyond the roof levels.

The building will boast 290 apartments and 4,000 Sq. ft of commercial space. Green spaces are planned in the form of two landscaped gardens for residents, one on the mezzanine, and one at level 19. Penthouse apartments will have private terrace gardens.

Piling for the project completed in August 2021, and work began on the core and frame began in September. Internals commence May 2022, with a planned completion date of May 23rd. The delivery team also includes structural engineers Renaissance, M&E consultant Novo and project manager/quantity surveyor Henry Riley.
