Domis is proud to announce a major milestone at Lumina Village, Trafford’s transformative new neighbourhood: the project has officially topped out ahead of schedule.
Located within the Civic Quarter and set on the site of the former 12-acre Kellogg’s factory, Lumina Village is one of Greater Manchester’s most ambitious regeneration projects. Once complete, it will deliver 639 new homes, including a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom apartments and duplexes, as well as three and four-bedroom townhouses. The scheme also incorporates extensive green space, retail provision, and a striking half acre rooftop garden — all within walking distance of Old Trafford cricket ground.
To mark the topping out milestone, over 300 members of the site workforce came together on Friday to celebrate the progress made so far. The event recognised the hard work, dedication, and collaboration that has brought this landmark community closer to reality.
Karl Dobson, Project Director of Lumina Village, commented:
“Friday was a celebration of MAYO Civils completing the concrete frame works on the last block ahead of schedule and the façade works progressing well across all elevations, leaving us in a strong position on site. As a team, we felt it was only right to hold a topping out party to recognise the hard work that’s gone into reaching this stage. It was a great opportunity to thank everyone involved, from management to operatives, for their continued efforts and to help maintain that positive energy as we transition into the next phase of works.”
The development offers a range of tenures, from private rent and shared ownership to affordable housing, underscoring its role in supporting inclusive, sustainable growth in Trafford. With its significant scale and community focus, Lumina Village is set to become a landmark destination in the borough.
Later this year, the project team will join client Glenbrook for the official topping out ceremony.
