Every year more than 1 million children are born with congenital heart disease worldwide. Most of these cases are treatable, but sadly, only 10% of these children receive the lifesaving treatment they need due to a lack of local infrastructure, lack of training, or lack of funding. Healing little hearts make trips to developing parts of the world, where they both perform lifesaving intervention, and train doctors and nurses in the poorest parts of the world to perform cardiac surgery on young children.
Staff and subcontractors came together for a day of revelry and team building at Worsley Park golf club, competing in activities such as golf, bingo and virtual clay pigeon shooting. Subcontractors kindly donated fantastic raffle prizes from kitchen suites to holidays, and staff members even performed a gig.
Director, Kingsley Thornton, described the fundraising event as “a project close to our hearts. Sadly, one of our valued employees lost a child to a heart condition and we wanted to support the amazing fundraising efforts that have been done in her name. Naturally, we did it in Domis fashion and had a lot of fun in the process too.”
Domis thanks staff and subcontractors for their amazing fundraising efforts.
