Following planning approval earlier in the year, work will soon begin on Nobu Manchester, the £360 million development that will reshape Manchester’s skyline with two striking new towers including Nobu Manchester, a 76-storey, 246-metre tower that will become the tallest building in the UK outside of London.
At the heart of the delivery is Domis, appointed as main contractor, supported by the Domis Group: Matic, Wright Landscapes, Casana, Novo, and Domis Utilities – who together provide a fully integrated model of construction, fit-out, landscaping, utilities, and specialist services.
The flagship tower will include the Nobu Hotel and Restaurant made up of a 160-bedroom hotel and 452 branded residences, marking Nobu’s debut in the UK’s luxury real estate market. A second 23-storey building on Great Bridgewater Street will provide 133 new apartments aimed at the affordable homes market.
Designed by SimpsonHaugh Architects, the Viadux scheme has always prioritised cultural sensitivity while pushing architectural ambition. Phase One, a 40-storey tower of 370 apartments, was successfully delivered by Domis on time, on budget, and fully sold out – setting a benchmark the Group now intends to exceed with Phase Two.
As main contractor, Domis will once again lead construction, supported by the Domis Group: Matic, Wright Landscapes, Casana, Novo, and Domis Utilities – each bringing specialist expertise to ensure seamless, multidisciplinary delivery:
This integrated model ensures Domis can manage every aspect of the build, ensuring the same commitment to quality, budget, and timescale that defined the success of Phase One.
For Domis and Salboy, Nobu Manchester represents not only a £360 million investment but also a milestone in Manchester’s international profile. Bringing Nobu’s world-class hospitality to the city reflects the growing demand for premium living experiences in the North.
