The 509-bed Deansgate scheme marks a major milestone for Domis Construction, Fusion Students and Cain, delivering a premium student living experience in the heart of Manchester.
Domis Construction has completed Fusion Manchester, a landmark purpose-built student accommodation scheme on Deansgate, delivered for the joint venture between student accommodation developer and operator Fusion Students and Cain, the global real estate investment manager.
The completion marks a major milestone for Domis Construction, representing the business’ first purpose-built student accommodation project and the successful formation of a new relationship with Fusion Students and Cain. The 509-bed development brings a premium, design-led student living offer to one of Manchester’s most recognisable city-centre locations.
Situated at the gateway to Deansgate, Fusion Manchester places students within easy reach of Manchester’s universities, cultural destinations, transport links, independent restaurants, nightlife and wider city life. The scheme has been designed not simply as a place to live, but as a complete student experience, supporting wellbeing, study, social connection and day-to-day convenience.
Manchester is home to tens of thousands of students, with the University of Manchester among the most popular Russell Group universities in the country. Fusion Manchester responds to the continued demand for high-quality accommodation that reflects how students want to live today, combining private and shared living spaces with an extensive amenity offer.
The development includes a cardio suite, wellbeing studio, pantry and coffee lounge, free laundry, gaming zone, karaoke room, library, three outdoor roof terraces, private dining room, private study areas and regular free events.

Fusion Manchester has showcased the strength of the wider Domis Group, with each specialist partner working shoulder to shoulder to support the delivery of a complex, multidisciplinary city-centre project.
Matic Building Services delivered the full MEP fit-out across the scheme, working closely with NOVO, Domis Group’s MEP design consultancy. Domis Utilities supported the project from early temporary services through to final connections, while Wright Landscapes completed the external areas, including the standout terrace spaces with views across Manchester and the paving works that help connect the building to its surroundings.
Casana Interiors also played a key role, delivering the fit-out and furnishing of all 509 student rooms, alongside the full amenity areas that set Fusion Manchester apart from other PBSA developments in the city.
Delivered on a tight city-centre site, Fusion Manchester required detailed planning, efficient logistics and close coordination across every stage of the programme. The completion reflects Domis’ ability to bring together construction, engineering, utilities, landscaping, interiors and design expertise under one Group approach.
