Domis Construction has reached another significant stage of progress at W Manchester, the landmark mixed-use development forming part of the St Michael’s development in Manchester city centre.
Set within one of the city’s most high-profile regeneration schemes, W Manchester will bring together W Residences, a five-star W Hotel, premium office space and destination-led amenity within a 41-storey tower at the heart of St Michael’s. Delivered in partnership with Relentless Developments, Salboy and Manchester City Council, the project is helping to redefine this part of Manchester as a new place to work, stay, live and connect.
On site, the structure is continuing to make a clear impact on the Manchester skyline, with the frame now progressed up to Level 29. The façade has advanced to Level 18, marking the start of the apartment floors and giving the tower an increasingly defined presence across the city centre.
A new project timelapse captures the scale of progress achieved to date, showing the tower’s rise from the early stages of delivery through to its current position within the city skyline. The footage provides a visual record of the pace, coordination and complexity behind one of Manchester’s most ambitious mixed-use developments.
Internally, progress is moving at pace across multiple areas of the building. The hotel element is now well progressed, with internal fit-out continuing across key levels and Casana Interiors beginning the installation of fixed furniture. This marks an important step in shaping the finished guest experience, bringing Bowler James Brindley’s design intent of W Manchester into physical form.
The development’s leisure and wellness spaces are also taking shape, with swimming pool works ongoing and moving towards conclusion in the summer. Once complete, these areas will support the hotel and residential amenity offer, contributing to the distinctive lifestyle-led environment that has become central to the W Manchester proposition.
The office element is also well progressed, with fit-out moving towards completion. Designed to support modern occupiers in the heart of the city, the office floors form part of the wider St Michael’s vision: a connected destination that blends high-quality workspace, hospitality, residential living and leisure in one central location.
Vertical transportation is also advancing, with internal lift installation well underway and eight lifts now operational within the building. This progress is supporting movement across the site as works continue to transition from major structural delivery into more advanced internal sequencing.
Looking ahead, apartment fit-out is set to begin shortly, representing the next major stage in delivering the W Residences Manchester. The residences will bring hotel-inspired living to the city, with access to W Hotel services and amenities, 24-hour concierge and a level of branded residential experience that is new to Manchester.
The latest progress demonstrates the scale and complexity of the scheme, with multiple workstreams now advancing at once across structure, façade, hotel, office, residential, leisure and building services.
As the tower continues to rise, W Manchester is becoming an increasingly recognisable addition to the city skyline.
