Yesterday we helped START, a Salford based Mental Health Charity launch their latest initiative ‘builders lunch’. Held at our Local Crescent Project the aim of ‘Builders Lunch’ is to open up the conversation about Mental Health and suicide in an informal way.
Did you know Men in the construction industry face the highest risk of suicide?According to national statistics they are three times more likely to take their own lives than the national average.
The free lunches and chats are part of START’s campaign which seeks to raise awareness of the issue and the support available. Launched with City Mayor Paul Dennett we are really proud this event could take place on our site. If you caught the 6pm ITV news you may well have seen our very own Chris Corbally and Stuart Gough being interviewed. If you or a loved one need to talk- do not be afraid to reach out…..
For a listening ear or just someone to talk to the Samaritans open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can call them on 116 123 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
